Core Values
We hold unto and operate by the following core values:
The Gospel – We are saved by the Gospel and we live by it. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, to the Jew first and to the
Greek, Romans 1:16.
Bible Study-- All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. II Timothy 3:16-16. Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as new born babies, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby. I Peter 2:1-2.
Outreach – This is a two-part value: Evangelism and services. Follow me and I will make you fishers of men, Matthew 4:19. For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat…thirsty and you gave me something to drink… I needed clothes and you clothed me… I was in prison and you came to visit me…whatever you did for the least of these… you did for me. Matthew 25:35-36, 40.
Servant leadership--…But whoever would be great among you must be your servant…for even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:43, 45.
Holy Spirit led life (holiness) – For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith… Eph. 3:14-17. The church is a soul clinic, not a social club.
Prayer – Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you, I Thess. 5:17-18
Love – Whoever loves his brother abides in the light and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes, I John 1:10-11.
Diversity – …by your blood you ransomed for God from every tribe and language, and people and nation…, Revelation 5:9
Community/Relationships – Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in breaking of bread, and in prayers … Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as they had need. So, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those were being saved, Acts 2:41 – 47
Inclusive worship – Acts 2:47. Same reference cited above.
